This morning we come to the strange story of Judah and Tamar, inserted right at a cliff hanger moment in the life and narrative of Joseph. We will discover that this story is out of chronological order, but doesn’t seem to have an obvious place to be inserted in the Genesis account. What does this story have to do with Joseph? What does it have to teach us so far removed from this world and these customs? And perhaps most importantly, how does this strange history point us to what is good and true and beautiful?
